One of the things that we often desire to do is to Find World War 2 Pictures. We are losing our World War 2 veterans in massive numbers every day and there is a strong desire to pay tribute to the remaining vets. The modern day generations know about the war through television, books, and magazines and from family stories. You want more and we want to help you.
The news photos during WW II were highly regulated by the government and unlike more recent times, access to those photos were given to a pool of reporters and then released in various newspapers.
Number 1 War Photo:
The most famous photograph of all time, about any subject, came out of World War 2, and that is the extremely powerful vision of a small group of American fighting Marines that were raising an American flag on Mt. Suribachi on Iwo Jima. This event was near the close of the war and was a much needed shot in the arm for a nation who was becoming war weary.

The photographer, Joe Rosenthal who created that image is world known for having been in the right place at the right time and he caught the spirit of the country. That photo tore at the heartstrings of the citizens and almost totally overcame a murmuring of anti-war movement in America.
By using old newspaper articles you will be able to feel the war as it was happening through the images that were published on front pages of almost all newspapers in the country at that time. You will see images from England, North Africa, Italy, France, Holland and Germany too.
Largest Collection:
When you check out the millions of newspapers that are available online at Newspaper Archive you will be extremely rewarded with a feeling of accomplishment once you delve into the ephemeral reporting of World War 2. The raw emotion and the display of power and might are almost overwhelming when you absorb how much this nation came together in an all out “must win” situation.
Newspapers Digitized:
Millions of old newspapers that have been previously microfilmed are now scanned and digitized in the worlds’ largest archive of old newspapers. If you want World War 2 pictures, there is no better place to find them. Take a trial run and see if you don’t agree. Probably someone would want them. World War II memorabilia is collectible,
If I were you I would contact your local museum or historical society and ask them if they would want them.
Other than that maybe an ad on Craigslist or ebay would find a buyer.
