We know that as an Internet user you get bombarded with buy this, buy that deals constantly. Just in case you have been hesitating on clicking through to the members area let me walk you through the procedure to become a member and do your first newspaper article search.
First step after you have clicked on the link to go to the members area, (you can do this at any time and you can always back out of the member area if you decide that you want to think it over first.) There is no hard sell here. You will see a list of some of the many features that are available to members.
The range of newspapers available goes back to as early as 1759.
There are over 91 million newspaper pages online now and 25 million more per year will keep being added.

When you search for a newspaper article you will be presented with several capsule descriptions of the story in computer text that is very easy to read.
Then when you find one that you are interested in you click on the title and a full screen image of the actual newspaper will come up and you can click the little binoculars icon to go to individual word searches within the document.
You will then see the word or name you are looking for and you can zoom and pan the image so that it may easily be read, saved or printed.
The quickest search from the front page is performed by just putting a first and last name in the box, but if it is a common name you will do better to use the Advanced Search tool which will let you use combinations such as name and keywords.
When you sign up as a member you will be given a user name and a password that you will use every time you login later. Write them down somewhere safe and do not share them with anyone else.
